From High School to Independence
Transition Services for Young People with Disabilities
Growing up and becoming independent is a big step! At NNCIL, we offer transition services to help young people with disabilities gain the skills and confidence you need to live on your own, find a job, and plan for your future.
What We Offer:
- Help Understanding Important Paperwork: Learn about Social Security, health insurance, rental agreements, and other important forms you’ll need to understand as an adult.
- Independent Living Skills: Learn important life skills like budgeting, cooking, time management, and using transportation, so you can take care of yourself.
- Education & Job Support: Get help with school transitions, career exploration, and job training. We can connect you with internships and employment opportunities, too!
- Self-Advocacy & Leadership: Learn how to speak up for yourself, set goals, and take charge of your future with confidence.
- Community & Social Life: Meet new people, join social activities, and get involved in your community, so you feel connected and supported.
- Helpful Resources: We’ll guide you to housing options, assistive technology, and other services to make life easier and more accessible.
Learning to live independently can feel overwhelming, but independence doesn’t mean you’re all alone. We’re here to answer questions, offer guidance, and connect you with the right resources to help you succeed. Whether you’re just starting to think about your future or ready to take the next step, we’ll support you every step of the way.
